Position Overview
Ultimate Staffing is actively seeking an experienced HR/Payroll Coordinator to join their client's team in South Pasadena, CA. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity for a bilingual professional fluent in both Spanish and English. The successful candidate will support day-to-day human resources and payroll operations in a full-time capacity. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys supporting employees across all levels of the organization.
Responsibilities
Payroll
- Process bi-weekly/weekly payroll accurately and on time.
- Maintain payroll records, including hours, deductions, taxes, and benefits.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state (CA), and local wage and hour laws.
- Address employee payroll questions and resolve discrepancies.
Human Resources
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding, including new hire paperwork and orientations.
- Maintain employee personnel files and HRIS data with strict confidentiality.
- Support benefits administration (enrollments, changes, employee inquiries).
- Assist with employee relations matters and general HR inquiries.
- Translate documents and communicate with Spanish-speaking employees as needed.
Administrative Support
- Prepare HR reports and audit documentation.
- Support compliance efforts (I-9s, personnel records, policies).
- Coordinate with external vendors (payroll, benefits, etc.).
Qualifications
- Bilingual in Spanish and English (verbal and written) - required.
- 2+ years of experience in HR and/or payroll coordination.
- Knowledge of California labor laws and payroll regulations preferred.
- Experience with payroll systems and HRIS platforms.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Required Work Hours
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday
Additional Details
Location: South Pasadena, CA
Pay Rate: $30 per hour
